'My name is Billy Monday but my friends call me Blue'

We had a lot of fun on the art show circuit this year. Our first show of the year was at the Rockaway Beach Art Festival. As rookies we broke in a brand new tent canopy for displaying our pieces. Not to be bothered with the instructions, we were struggling to get the tent up. It would have been tough to display pottery under a 3 foot tent. Just as Sandy and I started having a heated argument about which direction the poles go, we looked up and this kind gentleman came to the rescue.

The gentleman introduced himself as Billy Monday, but then said his friends call him Blue. We worked all weekend to thank him and try to get on the list of people calling him Blue. He and his wife retired many years ago and started doing these shows 20+ years ago. They combine the Art Shows with their vacations, making enough money to eat and drive to the next spot. He made beutiful wood serving trays and mirror frames. His wife painted them with country designs. We did catch their favor when we told them we were also from Idaho as they live in Northern Idaho, (I think Spirit Lake). Most everyone else we met also had interesting stories of how they got started doing art and selling it at the various shows. But we will never forget Blue.
