Bill in the Studio working on Spring Planters
Steven Hill is one of my favorite potters. I was fortunate to be able
to attend his workshop in Portland, December, 2006. He uses a lot
of slip on his interesting altered functional forms. Every detail is
very carefully planned out. Pictured in the left corner is one of his
classic watering cans.
Working on an order for some large planters (custom orders are
always accepted). These 12 - 14" diameter planters that start
with 15+ lbs of clay. Handles were added to several of them to
help in picking them up when full of moist soil and plants.
Planters have been a specialty of mine for over 20 years - it is
fun making these large ones. Note the attached generous tray -
no worrying about floods on your furniture with these planters.
Finished order of 7 planters.

View from our stay at Gearhart, Beach during the show. Great way to spend the weekend.
It also helped having a beautiful smiling Booth Mate.

Our First Gallery Showing!
|
In March of 2007 we became part of a new Gallery called, City Arts Gallery. Since closed, City Arts was a Downtown
Portland Gallery adjacent to the Galleria Max Station at Morrison and 9th. The Gallery had large windows and a beautiful
interior. The Gallery featured art work from over 70 local and emerging artists from the Pacific Northwest. The artwork
included photography, jewelry, painting, printmaking, glass, pottery, sculpture, textiles & fiber art. The City Arts concept
differed from other galleries in that each artist had their own display area to showcase their work.
